Powering Up Platforms

While common for rooftop infrastructure (as our recent newsletter described), platforms are also vital to operating and maintaining machinery on terra firma!

The Milwaukee custom metal fabricators at 3Up Metal Works recently created and installed this platform around a generator in Middleton, Wis. The platform offers stable, safe access to the unit's controls and maintenance panels.

Workers have stable, level footing to focus on the job at hand. Tools and their containers have a place to rest. Beats the heck out of going up and down ladders, right?

As with any project, a tremendous amount of planning was involved (remember the 80-20 Rule?). Measuring, remeasuring, calculating, procuring materials … a LOT of work gets done in the Milwaukee welding shop before the first weld is made.
