We’re closing in on the end of Building Safety Month. Were you aware?

Building Safety Month is an international campaign celebrated in May to boost awareness about … well … building safety. The annual monthlong recognition started in 1980.

“This campaign reinforces the need for the adoption of modern, regularly-updated building codes, and helps individuals, families and businesses understand what it takes to create safe and sustainable structures,” according to the International Code Council, which leads the campaign every May.

“We come together to support Building Safety Month because we understand the need for safe and sustainable structures where we live, work and play,” its web site continues.

Promoting safety in and around structures is a concept that everyone can get behind. At 3Up Metal Works, we put a yearlong emphasis on pursuing building safety.

Every piece that the welders in our Milwaukee welding shop put together is custom. They might be used in spaces that are big or small, tight or airy, or involve challenging heights or angles. The end goal is to allow people to move in, through and around these spaces - safely.

You might say that, for us, every month is Building Safety Month. Safety is easy to take for granted ... yet can be costly to ignore. Be sure to always make it a high priority - every month of the year!
